If a person purchases breeding rights, the puppy, dog, or other livestock, known as “the animal”, in any form from Rehoboth Farms of VA, LLC that person is henceforth known as “the buyer” and agrees to the following terms of this contract. Any representative of Rehoboth Farms of VA, LLC is known as “the seller”.

  1. The buyer agrees to sign a paper copy of this contract upon receiving the animal purchased. The buyer also agrees to sign a paper copy of any other contract necessary if the buyer has purchased additional rights or registration of the animal.

  2. The buyer agrees that signing this contract absolves the buyer from sections 13 and 14 of the Animal Adoption Contract.

  3. The buyer agrees that there is no guarantee the animal will or should produce offspring.

  4. The buyer agrees not to mate the animal for breeding purposes until the animal is 18 months age (one year and six months) or after the first heat, skipping the first heat. Whichever comes first.

  5. The buyer agrees that spaying or neutering the animal is the buyer’s choice of when, if ever, to do so.

  6. The buyer agrees that the buyer may sell any offspring of the animal, if female.

  7. The buyer agrees that the buyer may “stud out” or use the animal to sire offspring, if male.

  8. The buyer agrees to stop any and all breeding of the animal if the animal is not healthy enough to do so.

  9. The buyer agrees that a pregnancy and delivery of offspring may be dangerous for an animal and may cause the animal to become ill, not produce any more offspring, or to pass away.

  10. The buyer agrees that, if female, the animal’s emotions and behaviors may change while in heat, while pregnant, and while giving birth. The buyer should understand that the animal may become aggressive, growl, bark, snip at, bite, or attack the owner during this time, even if the animal has never done so before.

  11. The buyer agrees that, if male, the animal’s emotions and behaviors may change while in the presence of a dog in heat or while attempting to mate. The buyer should understand that the animal may become aggressive, growl, bark, snip at, bite, or attack the owner during this time, even if the animal has never done so before.

  12. The buyer agrees that, if adopting a female, a dog in heat may attract dogs of other breeds and said dogs may mate with the buyer’s dog. This may produce offspring that the buyer may not have wanted.

  13. The buyer agrees that a female dog can have multiple sires and if the animal mates with multiple sires a mixture of different breeds may be produced in the offspring.

  14. The buyer agrees to care for any and all offspring in the best way possible, including but not limited to proper nutrition, hydration, shelter, exercise, vaccinations, and de-worming, until the buyer can find a proper home for the offspring.

  15. The buyer agrees to not to abandon any offspring unless surrendering the offspring into proper care, such as an animal shelter or Humane Society.

  16. The seller agrees that the buyer may be in direct competition with the seller in their business practices, if the buyer so chooses.
